PROJECT STATEMENT

My parents are two of the kindest most generous people I know. They have given my sisters and I so much of themselves. This May they will be celebrating their 34th anniversary and I want to give them something unique and personal.  This Photoshop assignment gave me that opportunity.  This is a special anniversary portrait.  I chose photos of my parents as children for two reasons.  First to symbolize that at age 62 and 61 they are still young at heart and second because I just love these pictures of them.  You always see new things each time you look at a photograph.  Recently, looking at this picture of my mother, I saw my late grandmothers smile.  The entire work is a collage, everything scanned, cut, and pasted in Photoshop.  True, it is not a technical tour-de-force, but it conveys the sense of nostalgia and romance I wanted to achieve.  As for the faint images of three babies in the background, those are my sisters and I.  We are the three twinkles in the eyes of two people who have yet to meet.
